Title: Grace is the New Black
Speaker: Charlie McMahan

Colossians 3:12 is a simple way to see the style of our new grace clothes. It’s a visual expression of our new identity in Christ.

The grace clothing of Christ has the fine cloth of compassion as He brought compassion into the world.

The grace clothing of Christ is woven with the fabric of kindness. You can show goodness and not be kind.

The grace clothing of Christ is sewn with the material of humility. Christ showed the world humility: It is not thinking less of yourself, but thinking of yourself less.

The grace clothing of Christ is woven with the soft feel of gentleness—“power under control”. Jesus was so powerful he could still a storm with three words. Roman soldiers once cowered in his presence. Yet little children came and sat upon his lap. He was gentleness personified.

The grace clothing of Christ is finished with the enduring fabric of patience. Patience is connected to humility. Humility tells us our life is no less or more important than someone else’s.

Compassion. Kindness. Humility. Gentleness. Patience. The fine clothes of Christ. Expensive attire from the Messiah. That can be who you are. He can be how you see yourself.
