Title: Provoke
Category: General
Description:

Provoke's mission is to create Dayton by creating a community of faith-based leaders who grow together, connect with others and mentor those around them. We create environments that encourage and equip leaders to grow a better community with integrity, character, and vision.

WE BELIEVE IN...

Inspiration...We believe leaders are inspired by being provoked to think differently, stretched and challenged to grow. A leader has a strong encouraging vision for the future and inspires others to follow.

Comforting...We believe vulnerability is key to awaken the mind and the heart. We desire to create a place where leaders can honestly share their life experience and how it impacted their world and the life of those they lead.

Resourcing...We believe in resourcing, coaching, teaching and mentoring leaders to strongly impact those they lead, follow and grow. Leaders are not just born they are forged. Great leaders can be cultivated to meet and exceed the expectations of the community, its people and each other.

Provoke meets monthly on the first Tuesday from 7-8 a.m. in the Small Theater. No cost or registration required.

Title: Men's Group
Category: Men
Description:

SouthBrook Mens Group is a place to get Oriented

An Oriented man grounds his life and actions on three things:

His Identity, his environment and his mission.  He knows…

1.    Who he is.  In Christ we are beloved Sons of the Father

2.    Where he is.  An oriented man has “eyes to see and ears to hear” what is going on around him

3.    The good that God is up to.  He looks for the good that God is doing in his life and through his life.

SBMG Mission – We hope to see the hearts of men so foundationally settled, so well trained, so well equipped and so well engaged that when evil dare raise its head, beloved sons will know what to do and do it well!

Our community values - Belief that the heart is good, a persons glory is perused not their sin.   It’s a lifestyle where lives intersect.  We pray, play, worship, eat, and share. It cannot be contained in a day, time or place.  It’s a safe and trusting place.  It will be messy, change and disruption are necessary and it must be missional!

Join us on Wednesdays at 6 AM or 7 PM.

We want to give you an opportunity to tangibly help families who need a little extra support this Thanksgiving.

On November 17, SouthBrook is teaming up with BOGG to give away 1,000 turkeys. We need your help in two ways:

First, we need to raise $15,000 to buy all of the turkeys. Go to this GoFundMe page
to donate at any time. 100% of your donations go towards purchasing turkeys.

Second, we need your time to help us deliver the turkeys to families. On Saturday, November 17, SouthBrook will become a turkey drive-through. You can come to SouthBrook between 10-11 am, pick up as many turkeys as you want to deliver, and take those turkeys directly to families.

Email BOGG to sign up to deliver turkeys.

Thank you for helping families feel supported and loved this holiday season!

Title: Big Splash Baptism Saturday
Category: Baptism
Description:

Baptism is a physical act that reflects the state of our soul and what we believe as the truth. Jesus said to do it, however, we don’t want to pressure anyone, but merely assist as you investigate and inquire about this monumental step in a relationship with God.

During the Saturday, Nov 17 5:30 service, we'll celebrate those who make the decision to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior with a Big Splash Saturday. All are welcome, adults and students—first timers or re-baptisms!

To learn more, our Baptism Orientation is an excellent resource for further explanation as to why we celebrate baptism the way we do. It's optional, but available if you have questions. Go to Events for upcoming classes.

It’s a big decision. Think about it. And when ready, we're here to take that step with you. If you know in advance, go ahead and register now. If not yet sure, but you decide "in the moment," we'll be ready with a change of clothes! Contact Lu Musselman with any questions or to schedule a baptism at another time.

Jesus Among Secular Gods by Zacharias & Vitale

Dates of study: January 17, 2019 through February 21, 2019

As belief in the secular gods of atheism, hedonism, relativism, and humanism continues to grow, it’s more important than ever for believers to be able to defend and share the claims of Christ. This six-session Bible study challenges the popular and trending philosophies of the day, skillfully pointing out the fallacies in their claims and presenting compelling evidence for absolute truth as found in Jesus and revealed in Scripture. Join us for this in-depth Bible study and learn how to explore the claims of Christ and receive the knowledge to articulate your faith that Jesus stands tall above all other gods.

We Saved You a Seat by Lisa-Jo Baker

Dates of study: January 17, 2019, through February 28, 2019

“In today's busy world, we're wired to appear "fine," warding off authenticity and shielding ourselves from judgment. We hide behind the hum of busyness to escape intimate friendships with the women God has placed in our lives. But we do want a seat at the table. We yearn for authentic relationships and the opportunity to be the opposite of "fine" with people who cheer for us. In this 7-session, video-driven Bible study, Lisa-Jo Baker and friends explore our relationship with Jesus as the ultimate model for authentic friendship. Nothing shapes us like the impact of a friend - it's how Jesus radically and intimately connects with us. So instead of chasing perfection, overcome your fear of being known and join us in this study to find the courage to connect.”

Title: CIY Mix
Category: Students
Description:

MIX is a four-day event for 6th-8th graders that takes place at Cedarville University. MIX engages students through fun, interactive activities, coupled with dynamic worship, Biblical teaching and small group interaction.

MIX understands middle school students need their own experience. At a unique time in their lives, students are growing and learning different than any other age group. Still young enough to need to play, but old enough to start understanding some core ideals that will stay with them the rest of their lives.   For this reason, MIX isn’t designed for high school students or preteens. It’s specifically designed for middle school students–for it’s their chance to be exactly who they are: to play, listen and learn as themselves.   It’s also created for adult leaders to build relationships with students that will last long after the MIX experience. At MIX, students will come to understand their identity in God’s Kingdom, and be challenged to embrace the Kingdom work He has prepared for them

Arrive at CEDARVILLE on June 23 from 2-3 pm for check in

**Parents are responsible for getting their kids to Cedarville for check-in.**

**We will provide transportation back once the event ends.**

Return to SouthBrook on June 27 at 12 p.m.
