Healed---Pray, Believe, Receive

In November 2014, a CT scan revealed lung cancer. I did not know the specifics yet, because I could not get an appointment with my oncologist until December 2014. Before that appointment, God gave me a "word of knowledge" that I would be healed, and He would use me as a witness to His power and grace.

I saw my oncologist and had many tests, which confirmed I had Stage IIIB lung cancer with metastasis to three lymph nodes under my sternum. The next two months, I went through 12 days of chemotherapy and 37 days of radiation. Some may ask why I went through treatment after God told me I would be healed. Well, He didn't tell me how I would be healed. I didn't know if He would heal me through medicine or by faith. Three months after treatment, the CT scan showed no evidence of cancer. The thing is, the type of cancer I had is a type that always recurs.

In 2016, my CT and PET scans showed new growth of cancer in several areas of my left lung. My oncologist said I could have 3-5 more radiation treatments that would slow the growth, but not stop it. And, she wanted to refer me to Hospice care. I witnessed to my oncologist about God's promise to heal me and that to accept Hospice care would be to deny my faith. I had been healed by God through faith!

Before I saw the oncologist my cousin, Heidi, and I had joined together in prayer and asked God in Jesus' name for me to be healed, just as He promised me 15 months earlier. And that is exactly what happened. Praise God and may all the glory be His!

The Bible says over and over that Jesus was willing to heal. Jesus said, "that if 2 of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven." And He said, "Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you." Jesus also said, "Be of good cheer; your faith has made you well."

Pray, believe, and receive. Pray to our heavenly Father in Jesus' name with all manner of requests. God will hear you, and He will answer you. —Michael R. Davis
